Project Briefing
The client acquired a floor within the Lloyd’s Register building. Our role was to oversee and coordinate the IT installations carried out by third‑party vendors and provide regular progress updates to the central IT team in Zurich. This work took place during the renovation of the premises. Once the renovation was completed, we were responsible for installing all required IT equipment.
Project Tasks
- Attended the site in its initial ‘shell’ state for project briefings and confirmation of scope
- Created and managed help desk tickets to track engineer time for each site visit
- Coordinated with multiple vendors and the site manager to schedule deliveries and installations
- Provided continuous progress updates to central IT using live video, photos, email, and phone communication
- Reported technical and non‑technical issues encountered during installation
- Participated in on‑site briefings and adhered to all health and safety requirements during renovation
- Organised and transported reusable equipment from the previous premises, recycling items no longer required
- Applied a methodical approach to desk setups, including monitors, cabling, docking stations, keyboards, and mice
- Tested and signed off each workstation configuration, including network connectivity and monitor functionality
- Completed the majority of works during weekends to minimise disruption to business operations
Challenges
- Frequent power outages due to ongoing electrical works
- Delivery issues requiring manual collection from the loading bay
- Equipment requiring power cycling during non‑working hours and weekends
